Hello! I’m Maggie.

I see my role as one of reflection. I strive to help children and their families feel seen in a culture that so often overlooks them.

I am fascinated and inspired by the complexities of family life. I document these complex stories as an act of resistance - to remind ourselves and the world of their inherent worth.

I have been photographing and supporting families as they navigate all of life's thresholds, from birth to death, since 2011. With a BA in both photography and child & family sciences as well as birth and postpartum doula certifications, I strive to bring empathy and artistry to every family I support.

My work is deeply influenced by my beliefs. I believe in children’s liberation. I am a feminist and stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. I support LGBTQ families. I believe in dismantling the violent systems of white supremacy, patriarchy, and environmental degradation that are hurting each of us and the earth we stand upon.

I am…

Trying to learn how to cook. Searching for slow simple living.

Deeply in love with books but barely read anything over 30 pages long these days.

Still sort of believe in fairies.

Lover of children's toys and all things early childhood.

Saved by the practice of journaling and creating anything by hand.

Constantly torn between wanting to create all the things and wanting to sit at the feet of my children to soak up every second of their childhood.
